Slough Urban Renewal

SYSTRA has helped secure a key development within the centre of Slough Town Centre as part of our work with Slough Urban Renewal (SUR).

The development sits alongside a range of regeneration projects occurring within the town which are providing the ‘Heart of Slough’ with a number of opportunities for prime office space, PRS housing, and retail and leisure facilities.

The proposals, which received approval at committee in July 2018, included two Marriott Hotels (a 152 room Moxy Hotel and a 92 room Residence Inn Hotel), together with 62 PRS apartments and approximately 5000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space. In addition to producing a Transport Assessment and Travel Plan to accompany the planning application, SYSTRA worked closely with Slough Borough Council to secure the use of the underutilised Burlington Road Car Park for the proposed hotels.

The scheme will significantly enhance the hotel offering in Slough in a prominent location within walking distance of both the bus and rail stations. With the various committed and proposed transport improvements in Slough and the surrounding area, the development will be highly accessible to Central London, Heathrow and Slough Trading Estate.”
