ICT Technician - Birmingham

We are currently recruiting for an experienced ICT Technician to join our ICT team in our Birmingham office but working alongside the remainder of the team based in Woking.

Reporting to the Area Networks & Infrastructure Manager, the main role of this post is to assist in the day to day operation of the various computers and ancillary equipment in SYSTRA’s regional offices, where occasional visits will be required, sometimes at short notice.

The role will involve offering first / second line support to approximately 500 users as well as providing administration of virtual and physical servers, Active Directory / GPO’s, backup and recovery using cloud.  You will also be expected to trouble shoot and maintain peripherals such as printers and voice headsets, train users in new technologies, carry out office moves and image new hardware according to the company’s set up procedures.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A qualification (at degree level, or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Worked as part of an ICT administration team
  • Experience in office moves
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Windows administration
  • Excellent knowledge of IT Helpdesk procedures
  • Good understanding of databases and modern web-based technologies
  • Ability to solve problems logically and work methodically
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team based in several locations

You should also be willing to learn and develop within the ICT environment, be highly organised with good time management skills and be accurate with an eye for detail.
