The Role

We are looking for an experienced Information Manager - Design to join our growing engineering team in Birmingham. If you are a committed digital information manager who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play a part in growing a dynamic high performance team then this role could be for you.

Main duties include:

  • The role holder will be accountable for the delivery of the information management controls on a project
  • Managing the information configuration on projects
  • Maintaining and receiving information into the Information Model
  • Enabling integration and co-ordination of information within the Information Model
  • Establishing internal standards and processes for continuous improvement in quality and efficiency
  • Communicating with others to coordinate the overall design documentation output
  • Responsibility for managing and controlling all documents, both incoming and outgoing
  • Assisting and supporting the BIM Manager where required
  • Training project team members to control and manage project information
  • Scheduling and conducting of audits where required

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • BEng/MEng degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
  • Previous experience of managing design information within major infrastructure projects
  • An understanding of multi-disciplinary co-ordination across major infrastructure projects and global design teams
  • Previous experience in managing others
  • A working knowledge of AutoCad and Bentley Systems tools (Projectwise, eB etc.)
  • Excellent working knowledge of all PC based Windows environment and Microsoft Office suite
  • Experienced in the use of civil/structural software design packages
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • An understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards, Technical Specification for interoperability, Railway Standards etc
  • Experience of Prevention through Engineering Design including Designers responsibilities under CDM
  • A positive and enthusiastic approach
  • High standard of written and oral communication
