Team Leader (Concessionary Travel) - Birmingham

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join us, focusing on Concessionary Travel for primarily public-sector clients, ideally based in our Birmingham City Centre office.


The Team Leader – Concessionary Travel will be required to lead the small public transport team, acting as Project Manager or Project Director for public transport and concessionary travel projects across the UK, working across the full project lifecycle, contributing to proposals for new projects, and identifying and chasing opportunities for new business. 

The role will also have the potential to contribute more widely to public transport projects, especially those related to fares, ticketing and bus service operations, so experience of this would be ideal.


The Team Leader must have:

  • Experience with a local authority dealing directly with bus operators;
  • Alternatively have experience with a bus operator, developing operational and commercial strategies in cooperation or partnership with local authorities;
  • Experience with the management of bus concessionary travel scheme reimbursement in the UK;
  • Contributing to the negotiation of successful outcomes for clients (which may be either public sector local transport authorities or private sector bus operators).

Ideally you will be degree qualified, but this is not essential, as experience and demonstrable skills in concessionary travel are the essential criteria.
