Business Case & Economics
Project promoters however large or small must secure funding for their schemes. That requires a business case with a robust evidence base to demonstrate social and environmental benefits as well as financial sustainability and value for money.
Since 2009 SYSTRA has been responsible for business cases supporting more than 30 successful bids for Major Scheme funding, Pinch Point, ERDF, Better Bus Area, and other similar funding sources.
We guide our Local Enterprise Partnership, local and sub-national government clients towards Treasury backed solutions. To do this, we create an objectives-led approach, placing transport policy and the scheme investment needs within their wider context.
We lead all aspects of the preparation of appraisal and business cases for our clients’ schemes, including demand, revenue and benefits forecasts, environmental appraisal, operational impacts of the local transport network, risk assessment and management, tender development and evaluation, and ex-post scheme evaluation. Our team of economists helps quantify the impacts of the scheme on the local, regional and national economy.
