St. Nicholas House, Sutton
SYSTRA was appointed by MBU Capital in 2019 to provide highways and transport consultancy services associated with the redevelopment of St. Nicholas House, Sutton. The development proposals involve the partial demolition and extension of the existing St Nicholas House to provide a 14-storey building with 175 residential units, as well as office and retail spaces on the ground floor, with associated car and cycle parking. The site is in a sustainable and accessible location, with good opportunities by foot, cycle and public transport, connecting the area to a variety of facilities and amenities.
Working in close collaboration with GSA Architects, SYSTRA prepared a Transport Assessment and Residential Travel Plan. A special focus was made on the car parking element of the proposed development, with a reduction in spaces planned. The Transport Assessment demonstrated that, the scheme by way of its location and choice of modes of travel to a range of residential areas, services and facilities will not be over reliant on the private car and will not result in a significant impact on the surrounding highway network.
