Bus Rapid Transit
SYSTRA has always assisted local authorities find cost effective transport solutions. We have developed an expertise in guided bus systems, which SYSTRA believes offers medium-sized towns and suburban communities an efficient and economical alternative to trams.
Guided bus systems are buses that are steered for part of their route by external means, usually on a dedicated ‘traffic-free’ track beside an existing road. The guidance systems can be physical kerbs, that require minor adjustments to the bus or tolley-buses or rubber-tyred trams guided by a fixed rail with overhead power supply using buses with tyres.
