Crossrail Project Delivery Partner
Background
SYSTRA is at the heart of the partnership delivering Crossrail to London. The new 21km twin bore tunnel, linking Paddington in the west to Stratford and Woolwich in the east, is the capital’s missing link in slicing travel times and overcrowding. Crossrail will bring a 10% increase in rail capacity to London.
With London’s burgeoning population, 80,000 passengers are expected to use the seven new sub-surface interchanges during the morning peak, in speed and comfort. As a Project Delivery Partner (PDP) SYSTRA has been responsible for every stage of the Crossrail Central project design and construction, with services expected to begin in 2018, under budget.
